Patient care and safety are significantly enhanced for all ventilated patients and non-ventilated patients. An active in-house training program ensures that all the nurses are fully trained and up to date in their information.
All the Units are functionally independent with dedicated Nursing station, central monitoring, clean & dirty utility areas and are manned by dedicated specialty nurses. The ICUs also have isolation rooms with independent AHUs for immunocompromised and heavily infected patients. ICU is supported by the High Dependency Units and step down wards.

The Cardiology division in Aruna Children Hospital works to improve children’s cardiovascular health through a team approach. Cardiology division is well equipped with experienced cardiologists. The cardiologist team focuses on early detection and proper management of cardiac diseases of newborn and children.
Emergency Care & PICU
Aruna Children’s Hospital is the only hospital in Sivakasi to have an exclusive paediatric emergency wing. The paediatric emergency wing is equipped with round the clock PALS (Paediatric advanced life support) trained paediatricians, emergency physicians and staff nurses. All critically ill children are attended to with zero delay. Modern facilities like round the clock defibrillator, cardioversion, point of care ultrasound including eFAST, point of care investigations (POCT), echocardiogram and advanced imaging modalities are available.
Our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a 5 bedded well equipped unit, with all updated facilities designed for the care of critically ill children. We offer advanced paediatric critical care by the team that includes qualified and experienced critical care specialists, paediatricians, intensivists, critical care nurses and respiratory technicians.
Being a reputed paediatric tertiary care centre in Sivakasi with exclusive paediatric ICU and step down ICU, we treat various critically ill children and heal them. We ensure that the family is involved in all healthcare decisions made for the child.
Neonatal intensive care unit
A baby must make many physical adjustments to life outside the mother’s body. Leaving the uterus means that a baby can no longer depend on the mother’s blood supply and placenta for important body functions.
Before birth, the baby depends on functions from the mother. These include breathing, eating, elimination of waste, and immune protection. When a baby leaves the womb, its body systems must change.
For example:
1. The lungs must breathe air.
2. The cardiac and pulmonary circulation changes.
3. The digestive system must begin to process food and excrete waste.
4. The kidneys must begin working to balance fluids and chemicals in the body and excrete waste.
5. The liver and immune systems must begin working on their own.
Preterm birth, a difficult birth, or birth defects can make these changes more challenging. But a lot of special care is available to help newborn babies.
